De do dee doo. De do deet deet do.
It took a while, but Kyle’s orders have finally been cut. Start the moving checklist. Chicago here we come. The report no later than date is set for June 18th. Movers are coming April 28th and we’ll blow this Popsicle stand May 16th.
Trying to figure out dates for all these fun must do activities! Kyle so kindly reminded me to not get caught up in all the “lasts” and to just do them as I normally would. But, it’s hard being a sentimental girl! I remember my last high school swim practice {lane 2 for life!}, my last collegiate race {tears!}, and my “peace out suckers!” MSP going away party {I’m moving back to the cold! Jokes on me, now!}.
Change is good. It gives us time to reflect back on how far we’ve come, and how we’ve grown as humans. It gives me time to look back and be thankful for my time in California.
Yesterday was {maybe} my last Palomar ride. Next weekend is the going away shindig at our place. May 6 is the last morning cove swim {or maybe I’ll sneak one in on our way out of town for good measure}. The Tour of CA is our official San Diego farewell.
It was another great day up Palomar. We had a couple of virgins and due to some miscommunication, I took Noko and Wendee up the mountain twice! Nothing like double Palomar for your first experience! It was so much fun to be around positive women who encourage.
Noko was miss chatterbox and was loving her new Parlee road bike {my old Cookie Monster frame has been revived and rides again!!}. She was doing laps around me on that thing! Maybe I need her legs now!
I’ve been keeping up with the masters swimming and occasionally leading my lane. Feeling stronger, and the speed may come. But really just enjoying the feel of the water again. This morning was a pretty awesome washing machine cove swim with warmer temps! Maybe my last swim will be sans-wetsuit!
It’s now, really real. Checklists, packing lists, membership cancellations, purging stuff – the moving lists are in motion!
